Intitulé Darkness and Starlight (l'obscurité et la lumière des étoiles), ce nouveau album demeure mystérieux pour le moment. Il subsiste un problème, cela dit. La partie "rock opéra" dont parlait Uematsu en 2006 est apparemment absente, car la référence indique un seul disque... Cela dit, le sous-titre Darkness and Starlight signale peut-être une nouvelle approche : la reprise de morceaux plus "légers", comme par exemple "Matoya's Cave" de leur deuxième album, une très belle ballade. Attendons qu'ils dévoilent la sélection définitive !
Nobuo Uematsu is true to his promise! The Black Mages III is coming March 19th! Hurray! Entitled Darkness and Starlight, this new album is still shrouded in mystery. Only one track has been unveiled as of now: "Opening - Bombing Mission" from Final Fantasy VII. You can listen to a sample from it on the official webpage for the album. Click here! There is one problem, though. The "rock operatic" side Uematsu talked about in 2006 is apparently missing, since the catalog number indicates only one disc... Nevertheless, the subtitle Darkness and Starlight may point to a new approach: the arrangement of "lighter" pieces, such as "Matoya's Cave" from their second album, which was turned into a beautiful ballad. Let us wait until the final tracklist is unveiled!
